Video 1v1
Camera and microphone, face to face. Permission is asked up front, before you’re matched, so nothing turns on by surprise.
Start a video 1v1 →No group rooms, no audience, no scrolling through profiles. Every ChatMatch session is a single pairing — you and one random stranger, by video, voice or text. This is the whole lifecycle of one match, from pressing start to moving on.
Anatomy of one match
Video, voice or text — chosen before anything begins. Video asks for your camera and microphone so you can see your own preview while you wait. Voice asks for the microphone only. Text asks for nothing at all.
Same pairing, same one-person rule — the only difference is what you’re asked for before it starts.

Start a video 1v1 →Microphone only, camera stays off — the same one-on-one conversation for nights when you’re not in the mood to be seen.
Start a voice 1v1 →No camera, no mic — a typed one-on-one chat thread. It doesn’t use your free match count and never asks for a permission.
Start a text 1v1 →Every match is you and one other person — never a group. You talk by video, by voice, or in a one-on-one text thread, and when it’s over you move on to a new single match.
Open chatmatch.chat in your browser, confirm you’re 18 or older, pick video, voice or text, and press start. No sign-up is needed for your first matches, and they’re usually free.
No. Video mode asks for camera and microphone permission before you’re matched, and the preview you see is your own. Voice asks for the microphone only, and text asks for neither.
Your current match ends and the server pairs you with a new person. At the very start of a call there’s a short, server-set pause before Next is available again.
Not to try it — your first matches work without signing up. An account only becomes relevant if you later decide to top up coins or use paid options.
Usually free to start: new visitors typically get free matches, shown as a counter on the start screen, and text matching costs nothing. Video and voice calls can use coins once the free part is used, with prices shown in the wallet before you buy.
Pick video, voice or text — no sign-up for your first matches.
